Team 1504

Welcome to the official Team 1504 website!

From a small group in New Hampshire, to inspire young people’s interest in science and technology, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) has spread its message far and wide across four continents. The beauty of the FIRST program is its divisions; specifically designed to appeal students of certain ages.

Junior FIRST LEGO League (JFLL) is a LEGO program whose goal is to plant the first seeds of curiosity in children 6 to 9 years old. Featuring “a real-world challenge, to be solved by research, critical thinking and imagination.”

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) allows students from 9 to 14 years old to explore their interests in engineering and science and build their confidence in those areas. Students in FLL “discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.”

At the high school level, FIRST offers two programs to extend the opportunities and excitement regardless of budget.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is an accessible mid-level robotics program, coming with an affordable kit of parts. “Teams, of up to 10 students, compete head-to-head, using a sports model and are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots” with the guidance of adult mentors and coaches.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) helps high schools students learn how interesting engineering and science related jobs can be. We build a robot from a common kit of parts in six weeks. Instead of traditionally focusing on only winning in the competition, FRC tries to encourage scoring points as a secondary goal, with the main being learning and growing intellectually while building lasting relationships and incorporating the Gracious Professionalism™ and Coopertition™ into all of their work.

FIRST place is a program in New Hampshire that offers classes for new learning opportunities for all ages, teachers, and students alike. It lets “ everyone discover and explore all types of science, math, and technology on their own terms and in an energetic environment.”

Please come and watch Team 1504 at our competitions or find a FIRST Team in your area.

Not only does FIRST provide these unforgettable experiences, it provides access to scholarships to pave students’ paths into higher education. Please help educate the youth for a better future by donating to FIRST or Team 1504!
